Herschel Walker faces abortion allegation from 2nd accuser
Herschel Walker has admitted an abortion allegation in his second case of sexual abuse, and is seeking damages.
The former NFL star was arrested on Wednesday by the Los Angeles Police after he was allegedly caught on tape having sex with a woman in 2017.
The woman, whose father is a lawyer, had accused Walker of sexual abuse back in 2014 at his California home.
In the new accusation, which the woman obtained through the legal system, she said he had an abortion just days after their second meeting.
“He is now going to be suing me for $4.5m (£3.25m) for an abortion he had done,” the woman claimed in her lawsuit, adding he was the father of her three children.
She also claimed his alleged crime was “cruel and outrageous,” and asked for $3.5m (£2.45m) for his bail.
She accused Walker of “intentionally inflicting pain” on her and of telling her she had to have an abortion.
She added that she was too embarrassed to tell anyone because, “I didn’t want to lose my job. I never imagined that people would think these things about me.”
The lawsuit claims he paid her $3,500 (£2,500) for the abortion and that she suffered “significant mental anguish” as a result.
The suit says Walker, who played quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1980s, had sex with her at his home in San Diego on March 2, 2017.
It also claims that despite her distress, she told no one about the incident, even though they were both from the Washington, DC, area.
Walker had a 10-month-old son with his second wife, and the couple later said they wanted to have a child, but later split up due to her alcohol use and erratic behaviour.
The suit states: “As a result, she made a decision to end her relationship with Mr. Walker and move to another state with her two children and remain in relative obscurity.”
