Ashanti debunks Irv Gotti’s ‘relationship’ claims: ‘He never tells the full story’

Ashanti is set to make her second film with actor Irv Gotti in a romantic drama titled Serenade. Ashanti’s co-star is set to play the lead. Ashanti recently had a chat with Irv about the film and her relationship with the actor.
“It’s going to be a pretty romantic film because I play the lead role,” she laughed. “And he is a really good role model (for me). I have always admired him, he’s the type of man I aspire to be.”
Ashanti said the film will be more about Ashanti than her character. “I told him that my character is one of a thousand people in my life. And he wanted me to play the lead. So, I am going over there as Ashanti,” she said. ”He said he wanted me to change my image, because he wants people to feel at ease with me. People are going to love me, and they are going to know my work ethic.”
The two stars were in London on Saturday for the film’s world premiere. “I told him I’d do my best. I told him I’d be in my underwear and put all the things I’ve done to make him happy. So, if he would still want me, I’d want to die.”
Ashanti also revealed she will appear in Ashanti’s upcoming film titled Kya Kaa. “I’m not shooting for Kya Kaa, I’m shooting for Serenade,” she said. “I am not going to have a bad hair day. I’m going to work my butt off.”
