Alyssa Milano was set to host the 2020 Academy Awards, which had been postponed to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
But the comedian was forced to cancel her appearance as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio quarantined herself in Queens in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
Alyssa, 33, and her fellow cast members were all tested negative, but Milano had to cancel her appearance on stage moments after she was put on a “watch list” by the New York health department.
Instead, she and six of her companions were tested.
More than 40 celebrities and movie stars have been tested for coronavirus in New York, including Lena Dunham, who tested positive in early February.
It was later revealed that the actress could not safely socialise for six months after returning from a trip to Italy.
The Daily Mail reported that Milano had been tested for the virus on Feb 25. She was advised by a doctor on February 27 to refrain from returning to the studio until at least a month’s time had passed.
But just one day after the actress was tested, the New York City health department advised that she should not attend the Oscars ceremony, which were being held in March.
Her appearance in the show was then called off on March 4, a day after the health department recommended that coronavirus testing be “restricted” for anyone arriving from overseas.
It was subsequently revealed that Milano had been exposed to coronavirus on an airplane as she was flying in from Italy to the U.S. on February 29.
She said at the time: “I know how lucky I am not to have gotten it and I pray to God that I and everyone else around me is safe out there.
